In a statement dated October 17, 2026, the Union, through its Executive President, Hon. Justice Adiele Aleruchi Azubiuke, and General Secretary, Comrade Awolayefori T. George, recognised the financial pressure the increase places on students and their families. The SUG assured students that it would engage relevant university authorities, seek clarification on the reasons for the increase and advocate for a fair and reasonable resolution.
