[Update] JAMB has released the cut-off marks now known as the Minimum Admissible Scores for admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session. The minimum score into Universities is 150, Colleges of Nursing, 150, and Polytechnics, 100. Colleges of Education and Agriculture no longer require UTME. This means that candidates seeking admissions into Education Programs (NCE) and Agriculture (non-Engineering Courses) are now exempted from UTME. You can read more about this here.
JAMB has finalized plans to hold the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions on May 11, 2026. This was announced by the Board's Head of Media and Publication, Dr Fabian Benjamin. According to him, the meeting will take place at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, located in the Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja.
Expected attendees include key stakeholders such as Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and admission officers from various institutions. Representatives of regulatory bodies like the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will also be present.
Apart from the announcement of the minimum admission cut-off, the meeting will chart policy directions for the nation’s tertiary institutions, set admission guidelines for 2026, and make a holistic review of application statistics, performance, decide concessional and acceptable minimum admissions standards to be applied in all admissions to be undertaken by all tertiary institutions in Nigeria as well as evaluate the 2025 admission exercise.
Also scheduled to hold during the event is the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M), an initiative that has promoted strict adherence to admission guidelines and contributed significantly to the development of tertiary education in Nigeria.
