The Edo State University, Iyamho has officially commenced applications for its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The JUPEB programme is a minimum of one academic session (spanning 2 semesters). It provides candidates with the exclusive opportunity to write examinations in three (3) subjects related to their chosen field of study. Successful completion leads to the award of a JUPEB Certificate, enabling direct entry admission into second-year (200 Level) degree programmes at Edo State University or any other university that recognizes the qualification. Remarkably, admission into this program does not require JAMB.
Available Faculties and Programmes
Candidates have opportunities to apply into the following faculties and standard undergraduate tracks:
Faculty of Applied Health Sciences: Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science.
Faculty of Management and Social Sciences: Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Peace and Conflict Studies.
Faculty of Arts and Communication: Mass Communication, Broadcasting, Journalism & Media Studies, English, History and International Studies.
Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences: Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, Physiology.
Faculty of Clinical Science: Medicine and Surgery.
Faculty of Engineering: Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Production Engineering.
Faculty of Law: Law.
Faculty of Science: Animal and Environmental Biology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Plant Biology & Biotechnology, Physics with Electronics.
Eligibility & Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into the JUPEB programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must possess a minimum of credit passes in five (5) subjects (including English Language & Mathematics).
- The credits must be obtained at a maximum of two (2) sittings.
Exception: For candidates applying to study Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), the five credits must be obtained at one (1) sitting.
Note: Students with Awaiting Results are also eligible to apply.
